Tip: In order to make the loop above look cool and not cowboy, make sure the points don’t line up perfectly, as the drawing shows.

Tip: So that your look isn’t too 1980s with the method above, make sure the pattern of the scarf is funky/cool, and wear clothes that aren’t too conservative (no white blouses or pleated pants!!). A leather jacket, tank top and skinny jeans are a great juxtaposition for this cutesy but timeless way to tie a scarf.

  2. I loved it!!! My mom loves scarves, and can you believe I never really paid attention to them until now. She always said it can totally change an outfit and she’s right…. she has long ones, infinity ones, square, pattern, solid colors, wool, silk, you name it she has it. As I have “carte blanche” (as she puts it) to wear her things, I think now she has a partner!! 😉

  3. Thanks for your scarf directions. I have just inherited a box of beautiful scarves and was wondering how to wear them. I love scarves and now I have five different options to tie them.

        • Hi Susan,
It looks a bit complicated, doesn’t it? Just fold the scarf in half and tie it once in the front. Then, slide the scarf around so that the tie is on your shoulder. If it’s a smaller square or a silk scarf, you may need a small safety pin to secure the tie so it doesn’t come undone. Does that help? Let me know if you have any more questions!
